Asian Inspired Dinner Party

My plan this weekend is for an Asian dinner on Sunday.  I know it’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m supposed to be grilling.  But, I’m in the mood for Asian.  So, here’s the menu so far…

Mixed Green Salad
with
Ginger Vinaigrette

Hot and Sour Soup

Steamed Shrimp Shao Mai Dumplings
with
Chile Dipping Sauce
and
Soy-Ginger Dipping Sauce

Dan Dan Mian
(Spicy Sichuan Noodles)

Green Tea Ice Cream
and
Fortune Cookies

Sake and Asian Beer

Does that sound good?  I’m going to buy the dessert.  I don’t have a clue as to how to make green tea ice cream or fortune cookies.  But, since I’m making everything else, I thought it was OK to cheat a little.  I can’t wait.  I love to entertain.  I wish we could invite everyone we know.  But, it’s just going to be for a seven people total, including Hubbard and myself.  We’re due for a big party soon.  It’s been a while.

What are your plans for this weekend?  Is brisket on sale?  I love catching it when it’s $0.99 a pound.  Nothing like ten or 12 pounds of beefy goodness and fat!
